Martin Lalonde is the founding President of Rivemont Investments and Portfolio Manager. He has many years of experience in the financial markets and held, before founding Rivemont Investments, the position of senior analyst, investment, mergers and acquisitions for a major Canadian agency. As Portfolio Manager, Mr. Lalonde is responsible for all the strategies of the firm. In that role, he is responsible for the construction of the portfolios including determining the allocation between the different asset classes and the selection of securities. Mr. Lalonde holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Ottawa with specialization in international trade from the École supérieure de commerce of Reims, in France. He also holds the title of CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst). |
Mathieu Martin, CFA Mathieu is responsible for the portfolio strategy and oversees the research and analysis process for new investment ideas. Being active in the microcaps sector since 2014, Mathieu has been able to develop his network and forge solid relationships with various stakeholders, which leads him to find some of the best microcap opportunities in North America. Mathieu has been involved with Rivemont since 2018. He brings with him an exceptional knowledge base, having participated in dozens of conferences, and having met hundreds of management teams over the years. He also holds the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation since November 2020. |
Philippe Lapointe, CFA
Analyst, Rivemont MicroCap Fund
Philippe is responsible for the fundamental analysis and monitoring of portfolio companies, as well as looking for new investment opportunities for the Rivemont MicroCap fund. Previously, Philippe was a commodity trader in the energy sector. His passion for fundamental analysis in the public equity markets ultimately led him to join Rivemont.
Philippe holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University.
Philippe Jetté is responsible for the analysis of the cryptocurrencies for the Rivemont Crypto Fund. Passionate about emerging technologies, Mr. Jetté has closely followed the development of the blockchain technology and has an in-depth understanding of its many advantages, both as a currency and on the various industries that can be reinvented thanks to this revolution. He has been active in the crypto market since 2013 and bases his expertise in fundamental analysis which leads to successful management results. He holds a CSI certificate on the Canadian Securities Course. |

The client portfolios are managed by Rivemont but held in accounts at National Bank of Canada, more specifically with a division called the National Bank Independent Network (NBIN).
NBIN is a financial institution that administers assets of more than $200 billion and is a member of the Canadian Investor Protection Fund. This fund protects your assets to a maximum of $1,000,000 (and more in certain cases) in the very unlikely possibility of an insolvency of the financial institution.
By virtue of its mandate, Rivemont transmits instructions to NBIN to buy and sell securities within your account, but under no circumstances does Rivemont have access to the assets held in your account.
